EXPECTATIONS:
1. All students must observe school and class rules.
2. All students will do their classwork.
3. All students will do their best.
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES:
A. Morning Procedure
- LIne up by volleyball court until your teacher picks you up. Wash your hand before final bell.
- Quietly walk to your seat with 0 voice level
- Quietly unpack your backpack and organize your desk.
- Stand behind your chair when Mr. White leads the school in the Pledge of Allegiance.
- Sing our national anthem “The Star Spangled Banner.”
- Quietly put your backpack away by table groups (starting with Table 1).
- On your way back to your seat, drop off forms/paperwork in the IN tray and do lunch count sticks.
- Sit down and quietly read the schedule for the day.
- The table monitor for the group notifies the next table to put their backpack away.
- Have your homework assignments labeled, organized, and ready for the Homework Checkers.
- Read your chapter book silently until the timer rings or the teacher calls the class to attention.
B. Quieting Procedures
“Give Me Five”
- Eyes on speaker
- Quiet
- Be still
- Hands free (put things down)
- Listen
- Freeze
- Turn and face the teacher; pay attention and keep your eyes on the teacher
- Be ready for instructions.
C. Hand Signals
- “I” ~ I have a question
- “A” ~ I have an answer
- “C” ~ I have a comment
- “R” ~ I have to go to the restroom
- Wait signal
D. Passing Out Papers to each student
- When the “hotel bell” rings, the monitor for each table group quietly gets up to pick up paper or other supplies for his or her group.
- The monitor sits back down to his/her seat, then quietly passes out the supplies to his/her table group.
- Take one & pass the rest of the papers down.
E. Classroom Assignment Heading
For line papers:
- Write you name (First and Last) and number on the upper right-hand side of you paper.
- Date
- Subject
- Assignment
For worksheets and other papers:
- Write your name and date on the designated area.
- Write your number on the upper right-hand corner of your paper.
F. Turning in Papers
- Pass your papers to the center of the room.
- Students sitting on the center aisle check to make sure that they have all four group member’s papers.
- Stack them neatly, make sure all the papers have student names & numbers are written and are facing the same direction (not upside down).
- Quietly turn in group papers to the respective bin up front or teacher.
G. Classroom Instructions
If you open it… close it.
If you turn it on… turn it off.
If you empty it… fill it up.
If you break it… fix it.
If you can’t fix it… get someone who can.
If you use it… take care of it.
If it belongs to someone else… get permission before you use it.
If you borrow it… return it.
If you make a mess… clean it up.
If you move it… put it back.
If it doesn’t concern you… don’t mess with it.
H. Dismissal at the End of the Day
The bell does not dismiss the class. You do not dismiss the class. The teacher dismisses the class.
1. When the teacher gives the signal, quietly pick up your backpack by table group
(starting with Table 8).
2. While waiting for your turn, remain seated while cleaning up and organizing your area.
3. Do your classroom jobs.
H. When Missing Homework
1. Tell the teacher (when necessary) & the Deputy responsible for your number.
2. Missing assignment will be noted on class log of missing homework assignments by Deputy.
3. Finish the missing homework.
4. Return the completed homework to Deputy the next day.
5. If homework is not returned, the Deputy will fill out a blue Homework Alert. A Parent signature is required on the Homework Alert. Student will finish homework & return the Homework Alert the next day.
6. If the Homework Alert and/or missing homework is NOT returned the next day, the student will have a conference with Mrs. Casuga-Eng.
6. Parent notification about multiple missing from Mrs. Casuga-Eng as needed & possible impact on student grade.
7. Pay $50 Bogus Bucks fine for missing homework and/or a replacement homework assignment paper.
